Why is this important?
Many nail styling products still contain ingredients that can be allergenic or even banned. That’s why it’s crucial to check the ingredient list of the products you use. What is HEMA?
HEMA (hydroxyethyl methacrylate) is a common monomer used in manicure products. While it's allowed on the market, it can trigger skin allergies in sensitive individuals.
What is TPO?
TPO (triphenylphosphine oxide) is a photoinitiator used to harden products under UV/LED light. From September 2025, it will be banned across the European Union under REACH regulation. It has been added to the list of prohibited substances due to its potential carcinogenic effects, toxicity, and environmental harm.
Why is TPO no longer part of our products?
At MAKEAR, quality and safety are our top priorities. That's why we consciously removed TPO and replaced it with a modern, equally effective photoinitiator with a much better safety profile.
Our new formulas are the result of months of R&D, lab testing, and hands-on evaluations. We made sure that removing TPO wouldn’t impact the quality, durability, or ease of application of our products.
